Traveling

If you are traveling by car:

1. Pack lots of water bottles in a smaller cooler to keep cold
2. Carry medications for the day in a pill box to keep them organized
3. Bring a pillow and blanket in the car to nap
4. Wear comfortable clothes
5. Bring food so that you don't get hungry, don't have to stop, and can take your pills if needed on a full stomach
6. Don't wear make-up or any of that stuff.
7. Bring extra medications for headaches, stomach aches, etc.
8. Bring a book or magazine with you to keep you occupied.
9. When you are driving home, set a time goal for the time you want to be home by, then whoever is driving you can have something to shoot for, and if you aren't feeling well, you are a set time to look forward to.
10. Bring homework in the car, to get it over with
11. Bring CD's and some of your favorite music to listen to
12. Leave far enough ahead of time, to get you to where you need to go without rushing and stressing about it.
13. Plan the route that you will take on a map before you leave, so you dont' get lost.
14. Find some alternate routes to your destination, in case of bad traffic.
15. Listen to the traffic on the radio when you first get in the car, so you know what to expect.

If you are traveling by plane:
(Follow all tips from above that apply)

1. Request a wheelchair to help you get around. The terminals can be very far away. Don't be embarrased about this, if you tire yourself out, then the plane ride will be miserable!
2. Dont be afraid to ask airport workers for help with carrying your luggage--that's what they are there for!
3. Use frequent flier miles to sit in first class if at all possible, the larger seats and foot rests, make the flight more comfortable.
4. Pack light--or at least bring a light and smaller backpack with you on the plane. you don't want to have something heavy to lug around the airport.
5. Try not to book flights that have lay-overs in other cities. The changing of planes adds extra stress and can tire you out.
